The NAIA has announced that 178 Division II Women's Basketball student-athletes have been named 2013 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes. Siena Heights saw two student-athletes honored.

After going on an early 7-0 run, the 20th-ranked Siena Heights women's basketball team was unable to contain 14th-ranked Briar Cliff (Iowa) and dropped a 94-77 decision in the opening round of the NAIA Tournament on Thursday at the Tyson Events Center.

The Siena Heights women's basketball team moved up to the 20th ranking in the nation and received an invitation to make its first appearance in the NAIA Division II Tournament.

The Siena Heights women's basketball team will wait until 8 p.m. on Wednesday before learning if it has qualified for Nationals when the NAIA releases the official brackets for the 2013 NAIA Division II basketball tournaments. The brackets can been seen first on the NAIA facebook page.

Sierra Calhoun scored a career-high 31 points, but the Saints' comeback fell short as the 21st-ranked Siena Heights women's basketball team fell to No. 9 Concordia, 71-63, in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Tournament semifinal on Saturday.
