Hickner's Goal, Assist Lead #22 SHU Women's Soccer Over Calumet

SCHERERVILLE, Ind. -- Mackenzy Hickner (Clinton Township, Mich./Chippewa Valley) had a goal and an assist as the 22nd-ranked Siena Heights defeated Calumet Saint Joseph (Ind.), 3-0, in non-conference play on Wednesday.

Hickner assisted a goal by Alexis Donnelly (Oregon, Ohio/Clay) in the 11th minute before tallying her own score during the 25th.

On Donnelly's goal, Hickner sent a cross into the 18-yard box and Donnelly one-touched the ball past Calumet Saint Joseph goalkeeper Amy Gasiorowski.

Hickner then charged through the middle of the field on the play that resulted in her goal.

Megan Michels (Washington Township, Mich./Romeo) gave the Saints some room with an insurance goal in the 82nd minute.

Winning goalkeeper Crystal Wilcoxen (New Hudson, Mich./Franklin Road Christian) had two saves during the first half. Hayley Reynolds (Saline, Mich./Saline) played the second half for SHU and made one stop.

For the Crimson Wave (2-5), Gasiorowski finished with two saves.

The Saints (4-0-1) will play their next contest on Wednesday, Sept. 19, when Bethel (Ind.) visits for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
