SHU Women's Golf Takes Third at Aquinas Classic

COMSTOCK PARK, Mich. -- Sydney Gossett (Royal Oak, Mich./Royal Oak) tied for sixth individually while the Siena Heights women's golf team placed third among six teams at the Aquinas Classic, which took place at Scott Lake Country Club on Thursday. A total of 33 golfers competed.

Gossett carded an 83 on the par-72 course as the Saints finished with a team score of 356.

Also for SHU, Ashley Everett (Monroe, Mich./Monroe) placed 13th with an 88 and Andrea Rumler (Jackson, Mich./East Jackson) tied for 14th with an 89.

Aquinas won the team title with a score of 324 while four golfers tied for first, including Aquinas' Morgan Leep and Kristina Raiz and Madonna's Chelsea Collura and Jordyn Shepler, with all shooting 79s.

The Saints will return to action on Friday, Sept. 21, when they take part in the season's second Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference jamboree.
