Late Goal Sinks SHU Men's Soccer at Rochester
PONTIAC, Mich. -- Brian Ebert (Brighton, Mich./Brighton) scored a pair of goals for the Siena Heights men's soccer team, but a late Rochester tally downed the Saints, 3-2, in non-conference action on Wednesday.
With Siena Heights trailing 2-0, Ebert knocked in a rebound during the 65th minute. He added the equalizer in the 68th minute with an assist from James Lawson (Utica, Mich./Henry Ford II), but the tie was not to be had as Rochester's Daniel Seargant scored the game-winner in the 90th minute.
The Warriors (3-6) got their first two goals from Tyler Stevens and Justin Kane in the 27th and 43rd minutes, respectively.
Winning goalkeeper Ryan St. John finished with six saves.
Michael Hummon (Romeo, Mich./Romeo) and Lucas Sagaert (Mentor, Ohio/Lake Catholic) split time in net for the Saints (2-3-1). Sagaert had two saves.
Siena Heights will return to action on Saturday when it opens Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play with a 2 p.m. match at Madonna.
