Dedvukaj, Ulrich Headline All-WHAC Honorees

ADRIAN, Mich. -- Siena Heights senior women's soccer players Daniela Dedvukaj (Clinton Township, Mich./Chippewa Valley) and Hannah Ulrich (Saline, Mich./Saline) were named to the All-Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference First Team, which was released by the league on Wednesday.

Three other Saints -- senior midfielder Mackenzy Hickner (Clinton Township, Mich./Chippewa Valley), sophomore defender Natalie Behnke (Warren, Mich./Cousino) and sophomore midfielder Carlee Pallett (Plainwell, Mich./Plainwell) -- were honored as All-WHAC honorable mentions.

Also, the Saints garnered 10 Academic All-WHAC honors -- led by the entire six-woman senior class of Ulrich, Dedvukaj, Hickner, Katelyn Combs (Lambertville, Mich./Bedford), Alyssa Hoff (Maumee, Ohio/Maumee) and Alessia Vagnini (Garden City, Mich./Ladywood). Other honorees include juniors Lynn Hendricks (Temperance, Mich./Bedford), Alli Howard (Novi, Mich./Novi), Megan Traynor (Machesney Park, Ill./Harlem) and Jessica Saunders (Flint, Mich./Carman-Ainsworth).

Hoff, a mathematics education major, is the Saints' WHAC Champions of Character recipient.

Ulrich is a special education major while Mackenzy Hickner is a language arts education major. Double-major honorees included Dedvukaj (business administration/Spanish) and Traynor (business administration/psychology).

Howard and Saunders are biology majors, Combs is in the nursing program, Vagnini is a criminal justice major and Hendricks is a psychology major.

Heading into Wednesday's WHAC Tournament quarterfinal at Madonna, Ulrich, a midfielder, had two goals and five assists while Dedvukaj, a defender, was one of six Saints to start all 16 regular season games.

Meanwhile, Pallett is tied for second on the team with six goals and ranks second alone with seven assists. Hickner has four goals and four assists. Behnke, along with Pallett and Hickner, started all 16 contests.
