SHU Women's Bowlers Place 22nd at Orange and Black Classic
CENTERVILLE, Ohio -- The Siena Heights women's bowling team placed 22nd of 23 teams at the Orange and Black Classic, which was hosted by Pikeville (Ky.) at Poelking Lanes South.
The Saints finished with a total pin count of 7,007 after scoring a 4,534 in six team games and a 2,473 in 16 baker games.
Amanda Blackwell (Ferndale, Mich./Ferndale) was the top SHU finisher, taking 41st place with a total pin count of 1,063. She had the team's highest average score of 177.2 and a high score of 193.
Katarina Coulson (Greenwood, Ind./Whiteland) placed 68th, accumulating a 902 and 150.3 average over six games. Her high score was a 171.
Amanda McConeghy (Spring Arbor, Mich./Hanover-Horton) bowled an 875 over six games -- good enough for a 145.8 average -- and finished 73rd. Her high score was a 161.
Hillary Weiss (Clayton, Mich./Onsted) had an 871 over five games and averaged 145.2. Her high score was 166. Weiss placed 74th.
Amy Parker (Toledo, Ohio/Bowsher), who finished 81st, had a pin count of 823 in six games to finish with a 137.2 average. Her high game was a 187.
The team event was won by Lindenwood (Mo.), which finished with a final score of 9,246. The top bowler was Kim Yioulos of Pikeville (Ky.), who had a 1,337.
The Siena Heights women will return to action on Nov. 5-6 with at two different American Heartland Intercollegiate Bowling Conference events. Both AHIBC II and AHIBC III will take place at Freeway Lanes in Wickliffe, Ohio.
