Moore Captures Two 1st Place finishes, Widner and Carney Hit Provisional Marks at Trine
The Siena Heights Men's Track & Field Team competed at the Trine Invitational, coming away with two provisional marks along with eight first place finishes.
Logan Moore notches two first place finishes for the Saints - winning both the 400 meters (51.12) along with the 60 meter hurdles (8.48).
Other first place finishers included Zach Widner in the 800 meters (1:55.79, a provisional mark for the NAIA National Championship Meet); Justin Bateson in the 3000 meters (8:52.52); The 4 x 400 meter relay team (3:23.01); Matt Leaders in the pole vault (14' 11"); Camilo Zuluaga in the triple jump (44' 1.50"); and Ray Carney in the weight throw (55' 7", a provisional mark for the NAIA National Championship Meet - Carney has previously hit an automatic mark earlier in the season).
Other top five finishers for the Saints include Ryan McElyea (3rd, 400 meters); Cory Heid (4th, 500 meters); Jesiah Rodriguez (2nd, 800 meters); Chase Every (3rd, 800 meters); David Weeks (4th, 3000 meters); Calvin Sullins (2nd, 60 meter hurdles and 4th, long jump); Max Field (4th, 60 meter hurdles); The 4 x 200 meter relay team (2nd); Ian Thorton (2nd, high jump); Richard Depalma (2nd, pole vault); Devin Jagger (4th, pole vault); Ben Zedler (4th, triple jump); Kyle Armstrong (2nd, shot put and 4th, weight throw); Will Hinton (3rd, shot put); and Josh Madden (5th, shot put).
The Saints will return to action on Saturday, February 10th and 11th at the Grand Valley State University Big Meet. The meet at Grand Valley will be the Saints' final tuneup before the WHAC Championship Meet on February 18th.
