Duncan and Byron Break School Records at Trine

The Siena Heights Women's Track & Field Teams competed at the Trine Invitational coming away with two broken school records, three automatic qualifying marks, and one provisional mark.

Phoenix Duncan notched herself both a school record as well as an automatic qualifying mark to the NAIA National Championship Meet with her first place long jump of 5' 5.25". 

Taylor Byron broke her own school record in the shot put with a 2nd place throw of 41' 3.75".

Lenzey Stidham hit an automatic qualifying mark in the pole vault with her 1st place vault of 11' 11.75".

Nicole Cavins hit an automatic qualifying mark in the weight thrown with a 3rd place throw of 50' 0.75".

The Saints provisional mark came by way of the 4 x 400 meter relay team who finished in 1st place with a time of 4:03.12.  The team was made up of Roshelle Woods, Morgan Choszczyk, Carrie Zubke, and Arika Knannlein.

Woods, Zubke, and Choszcyzk didn't stop with their success at the relay, as each of them also placed first in an individual event.  Woods won the 200 meters with a time of 26.40, Zubke won the 400 meters with a time of 1:00.90, and Choszczyk won the long jump with a leap of 16' 7.25".  Lyndsay Payne rounded out the first place finishers for the Saints with her winning time of 2:24.29 in the 800 meters.

Other top five finishers for the Saints include Woods (4th, 60 meter hurdles); Knannlein (2nd, 400 meters); Harmony Mead (3rd, 800 meters); Jessica Saunders (4th, 800 meters); Beth Heldmeyer (2nd, 3000 meters); Brianna Nordby (4th, shot put and 4th, weight throw); and Byron (5th, weight throw).

The Saints will return to action on February 10th and 11th when they compete at the Grand Valley State University Big Meet.  The event will be the Saints' final tuneup before the WHAC Championship Meet on February 18th.
