Clark Honored by WHAC on Men's Hoops All-Newcomer Team

Siena Heights men's basketball sophomore Cecil Clark (Ferndale, Mich./Ferndale) was selected to the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference All-Newcomer Team as announced by the league.

Clark led the Saints through the regular season in scoring with 14.1 points per game. He also leads the team in total rebounds (164), which has him ranked second on the team in rebounds per game (5.5). He also ranks second in assists per game (1.5) and is third in steals per game (1.0).

Clark wrote his name in the SHU record books on Dec. 21 this season when he tied the Saints' single-game record for points with 38 in an 85-79 loss to Saint Xavier (Ill.).

Other honorees for the Saints were Zack Craig (Morenci, Mich./Morenci) and Danny Calcatera (Saint Clair Shores, Mich./Grosse Point North), who were both honored on the Academic All-WHAC team. To be eligible for the award, student-athletes must be a junior academically and maintain a 3.25 cumulative GPA. 

Dan Pollock (Ann Arbor, Mich./Pioneer) was honored as the Saints' Champion of Character representative -- deemed the student-athlete who best exemplifies the five core character values the NAIA embraces which are respect, integrity, responsibility, sportsmanship and servant leadership.
