Kosovich Scores 20, Clark Has 19 in SHU Men's Hoops Loss at Concordia

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The Siena Heights men's basketball team lost to Concordia, 93-70, in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference action on Saturday.

Nick Kosovich (Shelby Township, Mich./Romeo) had 20 points and four assists while Cecil Clark (Ferndale, Mich./Ferndale) contributed 19 points and seven rebounds, but the Saints fell victim to a hot-shooting Cardinal team in the first half.

Vince Schantz (Wyandotte, Mich./Allen Park Cabrini) added 10 points for Siena Heights (6-16, 3-7).

The first half featured a pair of runs for each side.

SHU scored the game's first seven points before an eventual 8-0 Concordia run helped the hosts take their first lead at 19-18.

Clark answered for the Saints, scoring all seven points during a 7-0 streak, and SHU went up, 25-19. That would be the visitors' final lead.

The Cardinals scored the last 14 points of the first half and carried a 45-30 advantage into intermission.

In the second half, SHU was unable to close its deficit to single-digits. Concordia's largest lead was 26 on three separate occasions.

Rocko Holmes had a double-double for Concordia (11-10, 7-4), finishing with 19 points and 11 rebounds. John Schaeffer added 17 points and eight rebounds, Andrew Patrick contributed 12 points and six assists, and Chatavius Turner compiled 10 points and three steals.

The Saints will play their next contest on Wednesday when they host Lourdes (Ohio) in a WHAC matchup. Tip-off will be at 7:30 p.m.
