Bonds Leads SHU Men's Bowling at AHIBC II and III

WICKLIFFE, Ohio -- The Siena Heights men's bowling team competed in two American Heartland Intercollegiate Bowling Conference events over the weekend at Freeway Lanes, placing 10th in AHIBC II on Saturday and 11th in AHIBC III on Sunday.

During AHIBC II, Zachary Bonds (Bay City, Mich./Bay City John Glenn) was the Saints' leading bowler, finishing with an average of 203. He placed 10th in individual competition.

Mike Burman (Britton, Mich./Britton-Macon) added a 183.8 average and Jonathan Carey (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Blanc) finished with a 180.6 average for SHU.

Others who competed Saturday included Dylan Fox (Onsted, Mich./Onsted), who had a 173 average; Paul Farley (Sterling Heights, Mich./Bishop Foley), who averaged 168; James Hughes (Parma, Mich./Western), who had a 159 average; and Tyler Welch (Adrian, Mich./Adrian), with a 156 average.

At AHIBC III, Bonds was again the top SHU bowler, finishing with an average of 187.

Other Sunday competitors were Carey (185 average), Carey (179.8), Farley (165.8), Burman (166.3) and Welch (148).

The Saints will compete next at the Wright State Raider Classic, which will take place at two venues: Poelking Woodman Lanes in Dayton, Ohio, on Nov. 12, and Capri Lanes in Kettering, Ohio, on Nov. 13.
