Farley Averages 200.1; SHU Men's Bowling Places 42nd at Blue and Gold

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Paul Farley (Sterling Heights, Mich./Bishop Foley) recorded five games of 200-or-more points and placed 83rd for the Siena Heights men's bowling team at the Blue and Gold Classic over the weekend. As a team, the Saints finished 42nd among 66 teams with a final pin tally of 8,266.

Farley rolled scores of 232, 226, 217, 214 and 205 to finish with a 200.1 average and 1,801 nine-game pin total.

James Hughes (Parma, Mich./Western) bowled only two games for the Saints, but recorded the team's high individual score -- a 245. He averaged 192.5 per contest and placed 403rd of 436 bowlers with a 385 total pin count.

Zachary Bonds (Bay City, Mich./Bay City John Glenn) fired high games of 216 and 214 and compiled a 180.0 average. He has 1,620 total pin count, finishing 140th.

Jonathan Carey (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Blanc) was 146th for the Saints, finishing with a 1,598 pin count and 177.6 average. He had high games of 224 and 207.

Other SHU participants included Greg Gose (Hudson, Mich./Hudson), who was 154th with a 1,583; Trevor Goodfriend (Adrian, Mich./Adrian), 169th with a 1,533; Kyle Peters (Charlotte, Mich./Lansing Waverly), 172nd with a 1,524; Dylan Fox (Onsted, Mich./Onsted), 179th with a 1,502; Mike Bohnett (Milan, Mich./Clinton), 202nd with a 1,424; Mike Burman (Britton, Mich./Britton-Macon), 244th with a seven-game total of 1,279; and Michael Balinski (Tecumseh, Mich./Tecumseh), 291st with a 1,096.

Burman had a 182.7 average. A total of 436 bowlers participated.

Two-hundred point games were recorded by Gose (222), Goodfriend (209-203), Peters (215-211), Fox (203) and Burman (235-214).

Lindenwood (Mo.) won the team championship, finishing with a pin total of 10,005. Saginaw Valley State's Aaron Lorincz was the top individual with a 2,146 pin count and 238.4 average.

The Saints will compete next at the American Heartland Intercollegiate Bowling Conference's fourth event of the season. The contest will take place at Western Bowl in Cincinnati, Ohio.
