BEAVERCREEK, Ohio -- The Siena Heights men's bowling team placed 12th among 22 teams at the Wright State Raider Classic, which was held at Beaver Vu Lanes over the weekend. SHU's total pinfall was 8,132.
Mike Burman (Britton, Mich./Britton-Macon) was the Saints' top bowler on Saturday, finishing in 23rd place with a 195 average.
Zachary Bonds (Bay City, Mich./Bay City John Glenn) and Jonathan Carey (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Blanc) also placed in the top 50. Bonds took 35th with a 191.4 average and Carey was 50th with a 180.6.
On Sunday, the squad averaged over 181 and narrowly missed a top-10 finish.
The Saints now have a break for the rest of the 2011 calendar year. They will resume competition on Jan. 14 and 15 at the Hoinke Bearcat Open in Cincinnati, Ohio.
