Farley Leads SHU Men's Bowling at AHIBC IV

CINCINNATI, Ohio -- Paul Farley (Sterling Heights, Mich./Bishop Foley) tossed a seven-game total of 1,269, leading the Siena Heights men's bowling team to 22nd place at the fourth American Heartland Intercollegiate Bowling Conference event of the season at Western Bowl. As a team, SHU had a score of 6,132.

Farley also bowled the Saints' high game -- a 210 -- while finishing with a 181.29 average. He placed 45th.

Also for SHU, Mike Burman (Britton, Mich./Britton-Macon) placed 81st out of 222 bowlers. He had a seven-game score of 1,163 and average of 166.14. His high game was a 201.

Zachary Bonds (Bay City, Mich./Bay City John Glenn) and Jonathan Carey (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Blanc) were 120th and 121st, respectively. In six games, Bonds compiled a 1,016 and 169.33 average while Carey had a 1,008 and 168.00 average. Carey had a high game of 203.

Greg Gose (Hudson, Mich./Hudson) and Trevor Goodfriend (Adrian, Mich./Adrian) bowled four games apiece. Gose had a 157.70 average and Goodfriend finished with a 156.00.

Mike Bohnett (Milan, Mich./Clinton) had a 147.00 average.

Notre Dame (Ohio) won the 36-team event, finishing with a score of 7,263. It was led by top bowler Mark Mantle, who had a 1,500 (214.29 average).

The Saints will return to action on Feb. 25 when they compete in the AHIBC Championships at Crest Lanes in Warren, Ohio.
