SHU Men's XC Claims Lansing Invite Crown

LANSING, Mich. -- Three Siena Heights men scored placed in the top ten of the Lansing Invitational as the Saints' men's cross country team won the team championship at Grand Woods Park. The squad bested 14 other teams.

Jesiah Rodriguez (Erie, Mich./Erie Mason) finished third with a time of 25:32; David Weeks (Eaton Rapids, Mich./Eaton Rapids) was sixth with a 25:48; and Justin Bateson (Blissfield, Mich./Blissfield) took ninth in 25:57 for the Saints, who had a team score of 46.

Zach Widner (Detroit, Mich./Weston Prep) added a 13th-place finish in 26:25 and Kyle Smith (Shelby Township, Mich./De La Salle) placed 15th in 26:34 to round out the SHU scoring.

Mark Haukereid (Bridgeman, Mich./Bridgeman) claimed 25th place in 26:48 while Andrew Mark (Lowell, Mich./Lowell) crossed in 26th, clocking in at 27:41.

Siena Heights will return to action next Friday in the Michigan Intercollegiate Meet at Hillsdale.
