Hubbard Spring Arbor.jpgThe Siena Heights Women’s Basketball Team remained undefeated with a huge 63-40 win over Spring Arbor.

In the first half, the Saints trailed only once, by a score of 2-0.  Shalaha Hubbard scored the next six points with two three pointers, and the Saints never looked back.  On the half, the Saints shot 44.1% to only 18.4% for Spring Arbor.  The Saints forced Spring Arbor into 12 turnovers, compared to only eight turnovers by the Saints.  Hubbard led the way with 10 points in the half, followed by Erin Cassidy with six points.  At the break, the Saints had a 35-17 lead.

Cassidy Spring Arbor.jpgIn the second half, Spring Arbor shot better while the Saints shot worse.  However, on the night the Saints outshot Spring Arbor by a total of 35.6% to only 23.9%.  The Saints also forced the Cougars into 25 turnovers and won the rebounding war 55-47.

For the game, the Saints were led by Hubbard who led both teams with 15 points.  She was followed by Chandler Levit and Erin Cassidy who each added 11 points.  Cassidy pulled off the double-double on the night with 10 rebounds to lead both teams.  Cassidy, Hubbard, and Tanci Levit each had three assists to lead the team while Hubbard also led the team with four blocks and three steals.

With the win, the Saints move to 2-0 on the season.  They will return to action on Saturday when they travel to Huntington University for their first road game of the year.  The Saints will return home on Tuesday night when they host cross town foe Adrian College at 7:30 pm.
