12/22/2009-Saints fall to Cougars in semi-finals

The Siena Heights Saints Men’s Basketball Team finally dropped their second game of the season with a 74-71 loss to St. Francis, IN.  The loss comes in the semi-final game of the St. Xavier Christmas tournament.  Siena Heights led by nine points at halftime but could not hold on for the win.  Siena Heights scored just 25 points in the second half while the Cougars offense shot 52% in the final stanza.

The Saints had four people score in double digits.  Mark Snipes led the way with 25 points.  Logan Mathews scored 15, while Cortney Smith added 13 points and led the team with 10 rebounds.  Brent Reynolds added 10 points and has a team high six assists.

Siena Heights falls to 11-2 overall.  The Saints will now battle Harris-Stowe State University (Mo.) in the third place game.  That game will be played on Wednesday the 23rd and it will start at 5 pm est.
