The Siena Heights Men's Basketball Team won their conference opener on the road over Madonna with Brent Reynolds scoring a career high 29 points in the 72-59 win.
Reynolds started off very hot with four three pointers early and scored 12 of the Saints' first 16 points on the night. The Saints carried that momentum throughout the first half building a 39-23 lead going into the break. The Saints shot 44.21% from the floor in the first half to build a comfortable 16 point lead.
In the second half, the Saints were actually outscored by Madonna, but it was too little too late for the Crusaders. The Saints held on for the 13 point victory. Reynolds led all scoring with 29 points and was also the top rebounder in the game with eight boards. Mark Snipes had a strong night with 10 points and six assists. Cory Umfress tied Snipes for the game high with six assists of his own. Jake Schirmer, Chris Shiels, and Snipes each had two steals to lead the team.
With the win, the Saints move to 14-3 on the season and 1-0 in the WHAC. They will return home for their first home game since December 9th when they host Concordia University at 7:30 pm on Saturday night.
