The Siena Heights Women's Basketball Team lost what ended up being a lopsided affair when they travelled to Aquinas with a final score of 84-58.
Siena Heights played tough with Aquinas early. Siena Heights found themselves with a seven point lead just three minutes into the game. However, Aquinas battled back and Siena Heights saw their last lead of the game with just under five minutes left in the first half. Aquinas went on a 12-0 run over the last five minutes of the half which all but sealed Siena Heights fate.
On the game, Siena Heights shot only 31% from the floor while allowing Aquinas to shot better than 52% from the floor. Siena Heights also lost the turnover battle by a margin of 20-15. On the night, Siena Heights was led by Erin Cassidy with a team high 12 points. The only other Siena Heights player with double digit points was Chandler Levit. For the first time this season, Shalaha Hubbard, who is still averaging 16.2 points per game, was held below 10 points, netting only five points. Cassidy also led the team with seven rebounds while Tanci Levit led the team with five assists.
With the loss, the Saints fall to 13-6 on the season and 2-1 in the WHAC. They will return to action on Saturday when they will look to "shock the NAIA" as they take on the #1 team in the nation, Davenport University on the road at 3:00 pm.
