The Siena Heights Men's Basketball Team lost a close game on the road at the #13th ranked Cornerstone Golden Eagles by a score of 77-71.
On the game, the difference turned out to be in the field goal margin and opportunities at the free throw line. The Saints ended the night shooting 38% while Cornerstone ended up shooting 41%, but the difference was mainly in the second half, when the Saints shot almost 39% from the floor, and Cornerstone shot 50%. Cornerstone and Siena Heights each shot 70% from the free throw line, but Cornerstone made seven more free throws than the Saints, including a 6-10 clip in the first half compared to a 0-1 mark from the Saints in the first half.
The Saints were led by Brent Reynolds with 20 points. He was followed by Logan Mathews with 14 and Mark Snipes with 13. Snipes was the Saints high rebounder with eight as well as the top assists man and top steals man with two and three respectively.
With the loss, the Saints fall to 17-5 on the season and 4-2 in the WHAC. They will return to action on Wednesday night when they host UM-Dearborn at 7:30 pm to close out the first half of conference play.
