In what turned out to be a lopsided game, the Saints came away with a victory they had to battle for.  In the first half, the Saints got off to a 10-4 run, holding UM-Dearborn to 2-10 shooting early on.  In the first seven minutes of the game, Logan Mathews (9) and Brent Reynolds (8) were hot, scoring 17 of the 20 points and building a 20-14 lead.  However, after that, the Wolves heated up and battled to a five point deficit, 42-37 at halftime.

DeReock Dearborn.jpgThe second half started out sloppy for the Saints as UM-Dearborn went on a 5-0 run and tied the game.  On their next possession, the Saints got a basket from Chris Shiels which started a 15-2 run by Siena Heights.  With 15 minutes left in the game, the Saints had a comfortable 13 point lead.  Although UM-Dearborn wouldn't go away, pulling to within as few as six, the Saints held onto the lead and never trailed in the game.  One of the strengths in this game was on the glass, where the Saints held a 44-28 rebound advantage.

Shiels Dearborn.jpgMathews led the way for the Saints with a career high 20 points.  He capped off the night with a double-double, leading the team in rebounds with 10.  Reynolds added 19 points while both Jake DeRoeck and Shiels had their season high in points with 14 each.

With the win, the Saints move to 18-5 on the season and 5-2 in the WHAC.  At the end of the 1st half of conference play, the Saints are sitting in 3rd place.  They will return to action on Saturday when they host Madonna at 7:30 pm.
