The Siena Heights Women's Basketball Team lost a crushing overtime game at Madonna by a score of 87-85.
The Saints came out on the wrong end of the overtime game. In the first half, they built a four point advantage, 32-38, however a 45-41 advantage by Madonna in the 2nd half took the game to overtime. In the overtime, Madonna outscored the Saints 14-12 which gave the Saints the loss. Despite holding a rebound advantage over the Crusaders, 51-38, the Saints were outshot 46% to 37%. The Saints also shot substantially better at the free throw line, 72% to 53%, but in the end, it was the Crusaders who had the advantage on the scoreboard.
Leading the way for the Saints was Shalaha Hubbard with 23 points. She was followed by Tanci Levit with 17 points and both Erin Cassidy and Lauren Crockett who had 11 points. Nikki Hughes had a 17 rebound night to go along with 3 steals to lead the Saints. Crockett had seven assists to lead the team.
With the loss, the Saints fall to 15-9 overall and 4-4 in the WHAC. They will return to action on Wednesday night when they host Concordia at 7:30 pm.
