Men's Soccer Hosts Concordia on Wednesday in Final Home Game of 2020 Slate

Upcoming for Saints Soccer: The Saints will look to earn the second win of the season with their third and final home game of the 2020 slate when they host Concordia (Mich.).

Head Coach Andrew Crawford: In his third season on the Saints bench, Crawford has a 14-23-2 overall record and an 8-14-2 conference record at the helm of the Saints as well as overall as a head coach. He was an assistant coach for the Siena Heights women's soccer program for six seasons (2012-2017).
 
Wrapping Up Last Week: Five minutes into the game, Brendon Long had a header that found the back of the net off a corner kick from Andris Klempert to give Lourdes the 1-0 lead. Five minutes later, Gustavo Barros took the free-kick from a Lourdes yellow card and slotted it past the Gray Wolves goalkeeper tie the game 1-1. Remy Collard scored the game-winning goal for Siena Heights as he received a pass from Uthman Babatunde into the box and scored on the right side of the goal giving them the first win of the season. Andrew Kozan made six saves between the pipes for the Saints and earned his first win on the season.
 
Series Notes: Siena Heights leads the all-time series against Concordia 13-6-1 dating back to Sep. 17, 2005. The Cardinals are riding a two-game winning streak over the Saints, including last season's road contest on Oct. 25 (3-1) and the home contest in the season prior to that on Oct. 20 (2-0). This will be Concordia's 11th appearance at O'Laughlin Stadium in Adrian, Mich with that home series swaying towards SHU (7-2-1). The biggest margin between the two teams was when the Saints beat the Cardinals 5-1 at home on Sep. 26, 2015. 
 
Sizing up the Cardinals: Concordia has a 1-2 start to the season. They won against Rochester (1-0) on Saturday, Oct. 3. They have lost against Lourdes (1-0) on Saturday, Sep. 26, and Cornerstone (5-0) on Saturday, Oct. 3. Brett Kuhlman leads the team with one goal (game-winning) and two points while Austin Corona leads the team with one assist. Kuhlman also leads the team in shots (6) and SOG% (.500). Ryan Webb has started all three games between the pipes for the Cardinals while making 18 saves and earning an SV% of .750.
 
Top Saints: Remy Collard and Gustavo Barros respectively lead the team in goals (1) and points (2). Collard's goal was also game-winning in this past Saturday's game against Lourdes. Uthman Babatunde leads the team in assists with one. Collard also leads the team in shots (4), shots on goal (2). Andrew Kozan leads the team between the pipes with 14 saves, a save percentage of .778 and a record of 1-1. 
 
Change of Plans: Due to Covid-19, the Saints have had to adapt and because of this, half of their season will be played out in the spring due to many teams in the WHAC deciding to move their entire season to the Spring. The NAIA has also moved all fall championships to the spring 2021 season as well.
