Siena Heights men's volleyball seniors Alex Garavalia (Kouts, Ind.) and Keegan Crawford (Columbus, Ohio) were voted as the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) men's volleyball attacker and setter of the week when the league office announced the winners this afternoon.
Garavalia put up career numbers to open the season. His 21 kills against Adrian was a career-high mark. He started the week with 17 kills against Mount Vernon Nazarene before his career-high night against the Bulldogs for a total of 38 kills on the week. That total pushed his kills/set mark to 4.75.
Crawford had a nice week pacing the Saints attack. He totaled 80 assists over the two matches for 10.00 assists/set average, the highest of any nominee for the setter of the week award. He was also efficient on defense with 19 digs, including an 11 dig performance against Adrian College that earned him a double-double.
This is Garavalia's first WHAC weekly award and Crawford's second. As a team, this is the Saints' first two league awards so far during the 2021 season.
Both Garavalia and Crawford lead the Saints in WHAC action this weekend, starting with a Friday night (Feb. 19) home match against Indiana Tech at 5:00 p.m., EST.
