ROCKFORD, Mich. -- The Siena Heights softball team fell to Lourdes (Ohio), 3-2, in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference elimination game on Thursday.
The eight-seed Saints were victims of a two-run, seventh inning rally by the seven-seed Gray Wolves.
Lourdes plated its first run in the fourth on an RBI single in the fourth.
The Wolves scored two runs on one play to win the game in the seventh. An RBI single by Bre Megyesi tied the contest at 2-2; a SHU error allowed the third LU run to score.
Kenya Keller led the SHU offense, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases.
Morgan Warfield was the losing pitcher. In 6 1/3 innings, she gave up nine hits while recording six strikeouts, four walks and one hit batsman. Of the three runs scored against Warfield, two were earned.
Megyesi, Yeager and Megan Mosiniak had two hits apiece for Lourdes. Winning pitcher Brooke Gallaher gave up two runs on six hits while compiling five strikeouts and two walks.
The Saints (23-21) finished with the program's first winning record since 2003.
