#16 SHU Women's Hoops Stumbles at Aquinas

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Sierra Calhoun scored 26 points, but the 16th-ranked Siena Heights women's basketball team was unable to overcome a 14-point haltime deficit as it fell to unbeaten Aquinas, 69-64, in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play on Saturday.

Jessie Arnold added 13 points and Jennifer Jasinski put in 12 for the Saints (2-1, 1-1), who struggled from 3-point land with a 4-of-24 performance (16.7 percent).  Morgan Warfield hauled down seven rebounds while Arnold grabbed five.

For Aquinas (5-0, 1-0), Taelor Sanders led the way with 15 points, eight assists and seven rebounds. Allison Heberlein finished with 15 points and six rebounds. Brooklynne Lane had 10 points and six rebounds.

Aquinas led at halftime, 36-22. Over the course of the game, the host Saints outrebounded SHU, 42-34.

Siena Heights will return to action on Wednesday with a 5:30 p.m. WHAC contest at Concordia.
