ADRIAN, Mich. -- Sierra Calhoun scored 25 points while Grace Howrigon and Alexxis Knannlein put in 18 each as the 23rd-ranked Siena Heights women's basketball team claimed a 73-69 decision over 13th-ranked Aquinas in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference contest on Wednesday at the SHU Fieldhouse.
Howrigon also had nine assists, eight rebounds and three steals for the Saints (14-5, 8-4), who increased their winning streak to nine games. Knannlein and Jessie Arnold finished with five boards each.
SHU went on an early 11-0 run to take a 15-6 lead -- getting five points from Calhoun and 3-pointers from Howrigon and Morgan Warfield -- and led the rest of the way.
Siena Heights had a 41-29 halftime lead and held its lead in double-digits until the game's final two minutes. SHU's largest lead was 58-39.
As a team, the hosts went 24 of 46 (52.2 percent) while holding Aquinas to a 22-for-63 performance (34.9 percent).
Allison Heberlein led Aquinas (15-3, 8-3) with a double-double, finishing with 27 points and 11 rebounds. Kelsey Spitzley added 14 points and Carly Bardwell contributed seven rebounds.
Siena Heights will return to action on Saturday with a WHAC road game at Northwestern Ohio.
