WHITING, Ind. -- Alexxis Knannlein came off the bench to provide a double-double worth 18 points and 12 rebounds as the 13th-ranked Siena Heights women's basketball team defeated Calumet Saint Joseph (Ind.), 63-52, in non-conference competition on Tuesday.
The host Crimson Wave (6-11) jumped ahead with the game's first five points and eventually build a 17-9 lead before Siena Heights stormed back with a 24-5 stretch in which seven scorers contributed to the output.
The Saints built a 37-26 halftime lead and then held that advantage in double-digits the rest of the way. SHU twice led by 22.
Latoi Merriweather was Calumet's leading scorer, finishing with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Giacanna Ezell also had a double-double as she compiled 14 points and 14 rebonds. Alyssa White added 14 points and nine rebounds.
The Saints will return to action on Saturday when they host Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference opponent Aquinas for a 5:30 p.m. tip-off.
