SYLVANIA, Ohio -- Morgan Warfield scored 20 points while Sierra Calhoun compiled 15 points, six rebounds and six assists as the 11th-ranked Siena Heights women's basketball team handled Lourdes (Ohio) for an 86-63 win in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference action on Saturday.
Warfield went 6 of 11 from three-point land while Calhoun was 3 of 4 from beyond the arc and 6 of 6 from the free-throw line.
Siena Heights never trailed at Lourdes. With help from six scorers, the Saints jumped out to an early 19-6 lead. Calhoun had eight points, including a pair of treys, during that stretch.
SHU took a 40-28 advantage into intermission and held its lead in double-digits the rest of the way. The Saints' largest gap was 86-58 with just over a minute to go.
As a team, Siena Heights had a strong day shooting the basketball. The Saints were 25 of 49 from the field (51.0 percent) and 10 of 18 from three-point territory (55.6 percent). From the line, they were 26 of 29 (89.7 percent).
Both Calhoun and Warfield are closing in on SHU career milestones. Sitting at 356 made free throws, Calhoun is 11 behind the Saints' record-holder (Sheila Landerschier, 367). Already the program's record-holder in three-pointers, with 298 as a Saint, Warfield is two away from 300.
Lourdes' leading scorers on Saturday were Niki Meyer, Sara Pribonic and Erica Davis -- each of whom had 10 points. Jesse Fidler contributed eight rebounds and Lauren Tilden made three steals.
The Saints will return to action on Wednesday with a 6 p.m. WHAC contest at Lawrence Tech.
