ADRIAN, Mich. -- Sierra Calhoun scored 28 points as the 20th-ranked Siena Heights women's basketball team outlasted Indiana Tech for a 69-55 overtime victory in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference action at the SHU Fieldhouse on Wednesday.
Calhoun buried a game-tying three-pointer with 0.5 seconds left in regulation, setting the stage for an overtime in which SHU outscored Indiana Tech, 17-3.
During the extra period, Calhoun scored seven points -- all from the line -- while Morgan Warfield and Alexxis Knannlein put in five points apiece. Warfield nailed a 3-pointer to give the Saints the lead for good.
The teams swapped the lead five times during the opening half -- SHU led by as many as seven and the Warriors led by as many as six -- before the Saints took a 30-27 lead into intermission.
Early in the second, Indiana Tech (11-13, 10-6) enjoyed a 13-3 run, getting eight points from Taylor Carver and taking a 40-33 advantage.
The Warriors held the lead until a Calhoun layup and free throw forged a 48-all tie. A pair of free throws by Shallante Clements helped Indiana Tech back into the leader.
Eventually, with Indiana Tech holding a 52-49 lead, Calhoun hit her tying trey to force extra time.
Carver was the Warriors' leading scorer, accumulating 16 points. Linsey Masnari added 12 points while Clements had a double-double worth 10 points and 10 rebounds.
The Saints finished 22 of 55 from the field (40.0) percent while holding Indiana Tech to a 17-for-75 performance (22.7 percent). The Warriors went 0 of 11 from three-point land.
SHU will return to action on Saturday with a 5 p.m. WHAC contest at Michigan-Dearborn.
