GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. -- Sierra Calhoun scored 24 points, but the 20th-ranked Siena Heights women's basketball team fell to second-ranked Davenport, 62-37, in the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference Tournament final on Monday.
Mackenzie Tomasik added six rebounds for the two-seeded Saints (26-7), who struggled from the beginning, which involved an 11-0 game-opening run by the top-seeded Panthers (31-0).
Davenport took a 35-20 lead into halftime and held that gap in double-digits the rest of the way.
Daina Grazulis finished with 19 points for DU while Brittany Johnson totaled 10 points and nine rebounds and Kia Frazier contributed 10 points and five steals.
The Panthers went 24 of 61 from the field (39.3 percent) while SHU was 13 of 42 (31.0 percent). The Saints committed 30 turnovers to DU's 14.
Siena Heights will now await word from the NAIA on its opponent in the upcoming NAIA Division II Tournament. The Saints have qualified for their third straight trip to Sioux City, Iowa. The tournament will begin Mar. 11.
