ADRIAN, Mich. -- Senior Lauren Wirth helped lift the Siena Heights women's basketball team to a commanding 72-40 victory over WHAC opponent Cornerstone, on Wednesday.
The Saints went up in the first quarter 10-0 with 6:40 remaining. Ending the first quarter with a 22-6 lead, the Saints kept rolling and never looked back.
Wirth finished the game with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Four other Saints (15-10, 9-8) ended the game scoring in double digits. Jaaliyah Arrington and April Watson scored 11 points a piece. Ra'Shawn Calvert and WIllow Cohn put-up 10 points each.
As a team, the Saints shot 28-60 (46.7 percent) while the Golden Eagles shot 13-51 (25.5 percent) from the floor. SHU outshot Cornerstone in three-pointers, making 7-16 (43.8 percent) with CU (14-10, 12-5) made only 4-21 (19.0 percent)
Siena Heights will be back in conference action on Saturday. The Saints will travel to Michigan-Dearborn for a 1 p.m. tip-off.
