ADRIAN, Mich. -- The No. 25 ranked Siena Heights women's basketball team hosted Lourdes in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference contest and its final regular season game on Saturday, and ran away with a 96-72 victory. Before the game, SHU was able to honor it's three seniors, Jaaliyah Arrington, Dynasty Washington and April Watson.
The Saints (22-8, 15-7 WHAC) were in control from the beginning and went into halftime with a 40-23 advantage. In the second half, SHU maintained control and came away with the convinicing win.
Watson led the Saints with 22 points and 20 rebounds. Arrington added 21 points, while Sharmaine Wills contributed 11 points and 13 rebounds.
Lourdes (7-23, 5-17 WHAC) was led by Jesse Fidler with 28 points and five rebounds. Daja Whiteside added 12 points and five boards.
In the game Siena Heights shot 29-60 from the floor (48.3%), 6-13 (46.2%) from behind the arc and 34-42 (76.2%) from the free throw line. Lourdes went 22-68 (32.4%) from the field, 4-13 (30.8) from three and 24-32 (75.0%) from the charity stripe.
The Saints will be back in action on Wednesday, Feb. 22, where they will enter the first round of the WHAC tournament. Opponent and game time are to be announced.
