FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- The #22 Siena Heights women's basketball team fell to the 14th ranked Indiana Tech Warriors in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference contest on Saturday.
The Warriors (6-1, 2-0 WHAC) jumped out to a 25-11 lead after the first quarter, and was able to expand the lead in the second period, sending the Saints (0-5, 0-3 WHAC) into halftime with a 45-19 deficit. Siena Heights was held to another 19 points in the second half and suffered the loss.
Leading the Saints in scoring was Alyssa Larson and Azalea Miller with nine points each. Ashley Perry finished with a team high, nine rebounds and also added eight points. Clara Waidley and Sharmaine Wills each contributed two assists for SHU.
From the floor, Siena Heights made 14-56 attempts for 25%. From behind the three point line, the Saints went 3-13 for 23.1% and 7-13 from the free throw line for 53.8%. Indiana Tech's strong shooting helped lift them to victory knocking down 25-57 shots for 43.9%, 10-22 from three for 45.5%, and 17-27 for 63%.
Next up, the Siena Heights women's basketball team will head across town to take on Adrian in a non-conference contest on Tuesday, Nov. 21. Tip off is set for 6 p.m.
