The Siena Heights women's basketball team with close out the 2017-2018 regular season this week as they host Aquinas on Wednesday with a 6 p.m. tip, and then travel to take on Madonna on Saturday in a 1 p.m. tip -- both Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference contests.
The Saints currently hold a 16-12 overall record and 9-9 WHAC record. Last week, SHU dropped it's only contest to Rochester, 84-79 in overtime. As a team the Saints average 65.1 points per game and are shooting 38.9% from the field. From three SHU has connected on 29.9% of it's attempts and 62.5% from the free throw line.
Aquinas is 17-10 overall on the season and 12-6 in WHAC play. The Saints average 65.5 points per game and shoot 40% from the floor. AQ has knocked down 28.4% of it's three point attempts and 70.2% of it's free throw attempts.
Madonna holds a 10-16 overall record and 6-12 record in WHAC action. The Crusaders average 64.8 points per game. From the floor MU shoots 39.7%, 31.1% from three and 69.2% from the free throw line.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Demi Russell leads the Saints with 10.7 points per game and adds 5.4 rebounds per game. Leading SHU in rebounds and blocks is Alyssa Larson with eight boards and 1.2 blocks per contest. She also adds a team second best, 9.8 points per game. Azalea Miller holds a team high, 3.9 assists per game.
For Aquinas, Michaela Faber leads the offense with 13.2 points per game and pulls down a team high, 8.4 rebounds per game. Momo Neal dishes out a team high, 3.1 assists per game and adds 10.4 points per contest.
Madonna is led by Becca Sabol with 18.2 points per game, 10.3 rebounds per game and 1.3 blocks per game. Cris Carpenter leads with 3.2 assists per game while Lindsey Hernden is averaging 1.4 steals.
