Siena falls short to Cleary

Adrian, Mich.  – The Siena Heights women's lacrosse team lost on senior day to Cleary.


Final Score: Siena Heights 10, Cleary 15

Location: Adrian, Mich. (O'Laughlin Stadium)

Records: SHU (6-8, 4-3 WHAC), Cleary (6-8, 3-3 WHAC)


Senior day got kicked off by senior Samantha Pawlowski scoring a goal followed by Jenna Sommerville and Natalie Williams. SHU was up 3-0 in the first five minutes of the game. However, Cleary struck fast as they scored seven straight goals to go ahead 7-3 with nine minutes left in the half. Then Sommerville was able to score again for Siena and put the game at 7-3. The Cougars got on another scoring streak and put up three more goals to head into halftime with the score at 10-4.

The second half once again like the first half would start with a goal from Pawlowski. Cleary answered back by netted a ball to put their lead up to six goals. SHU got two goals in a row however both by Sommerville to cut the lead down to four. The Cougars got one goal back with 18 minutes left to play then Natalie Williams added a goal for the Saints. With 13:00 minutes to play Cleary scored on a free position shot and the score was 13-8. Siena's Kristin Delclos got a ball pass the goalie to make it 13-9. But the Cougars kept scoring as they added two more goals. Then with two minutes left in the game Delclos scored again but no more Saints scored. The final score was 15-10.
