Racers beat Saints in OT

Lima, Ohio The Siena Heights women's soccer team lost a close one to UNOH today by a score of 3-2 in overtime.

The Basics:

Final Score: Siena Heights 2, Northwestern Ohio 3

Location: Lima, Ohio (Racer Stadium)

Records: SHU 12-2-0 UNOH 8-3-3

How It Happened:

During the first half of the game UNOH held the upper hand in scoring as they got out to a 2-0 lead. The Saints couldn't get anything going during the half as they could not record a shot. In the second half, Siena got on the board and recorded a shot as Julia Stancato (Junior, South Lyon, Mich.) scored on a free kick. Shortly after Stancato's goal she would score again and tie the game up at 2.

The Saints and Racers headed into overtime but the Racers came out on top as they would score in the 95th minute to end the game.

Top Saints

  • Stancato scored her 6th goal on the season

  • Paige Rachut (Senior, Plainwell, Mich.) recorded her 6th assist on the season

The Opposition:

  • Jackie Gardner, Kate Agyemang, and Iris Rabot scored the goals for the Racers.
