ADRIAN, Mich. -- Brianna Baker had 15 kills and 13 digs while Carly Tillotson contributed 26 assists and 11 digs as the Siena Heights women's volleyball team claimed a 3-1 victory against Marygrove in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference play on Friday in the SHU Fieldhouse.
Halie Baker added 14 kills, Lauren Baker dished 13 assists, and Nicole Morgan finished with 20 digs for the Saints (9-5, 3-1), who split the first two sets, 25-21, 19-25, before taking the final two, 25-17, 25-19.
With the score tied 11-11, SHU had a 6-1 run and held off a late Marygrove rally to claim the first set.
The visiting Mustangs (11-7, 0-4) used a five-point run during the second to even the match before Siena Heights claimed the final two sets.
In the third, the Saints had a 7-1 run to take command. Then, in the fourth, SHU trailed 8-3 before outscoring the Mustangs, 22-11, the rest of the way.
For Marygrove, Sarah Suppelsa and Amelia Velez had 15 and 12 kills, respectively, while Nicole Kempinski compiled 31 assists and 18 digs. Kara Kempinski added 23 digs.
Siena Heights will be in action again on Wednesday with a 7 p.m. WHAC contest at Lawrence Tech.
