SHU Women's Spikers Break Out Brooms in Ann Arbor

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Brianna Baker had 11 kills while Carly Tillotson made 19 assists as the Siena Heights women's volleyball team claimed a 3-0 sweep over Concordia in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference action.

Julia Haupricht added eight kills, Lauren Baker dished 11 assists, and Nicole Morgan came through with 24 digs for the Saints, who took sets by scores of 25-18, 25-9, 25-22.

SHU (8-5, 2-1) broke a 5-5 tie in the opening set, going on a seven-point run to take the lead for good. The Saints then won a lopsided second set.

The third set featured nine tie scores before a late five-point Siena Heights run propelled the visitors to a set victory. SHU trailed 21-18 before outscoring Concordia, 7-1, the rest of the way.

Hope Keating led the Cardinals (8-10, 0-3) with eight kills while Adrienne Kanitz finished with 24 assists and Julia Szuba contributed 13 digs.

The Saints will be in action again on Friday when Marygrove visits for a 7 p.m. WHAC match.
