ADRIAN, Mich. -- Carly Tillotson eclipsed the 2,000-career-assist mark while Halie Baker smacked 23 kills in the Siena Heights women's volleyball team's 3-2 victory over Aquinas in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference action at the SHU Fieldhouse on Wednesday.
Tillotson compiled 57 assists, 15 digs and five aces as the Saints claimed the match, 29-27, 25-14, 19-25, 21-25, 15-12. She now has 2,025 career assists and ranks second all-time in the SHU record books.
Baker, who ranks second on the Saints' all-time list with 1,070 kills, moved 41 kills within Ashley Hubbard's all-time record (1,101 in 2004-07).
Leze Vukaj added 11 kills and six total blocks for the Saints (8-5, 5-4). Rachel Cornish also made 11 kills while Nicole Morgan, Mycala Cherry, and Haley Mercy contributed 20, 17, and 12 digs, respectively.
The Saints won the first set, which featured nine ties including knots at 22, 23, 24, 25, 26 and 27. Baker had a kill and Tillotson smashed an ace to close the set.
In the second, SHU fell behind, 3-0, before exploding for an 11-1 run to take command of the set.
Aquinas then answered in the next two sets, closing with an 8-2 run in the third and then a 4-0 streak in the fourth.
The fifth set featured eight ties -- the final one at 11-all before a 4-1 SHU run ended the contest.
Michaela Ryan and MacKenzie Kolstad had 13 and 12 kills, respectively, for Aquinas (9-6, 4-5). Brooke Wieland added 37 assists and 17 digs, Rachel Sprenger compiled 31 digs, and Ryan had seven total blocks.
Siena Heights will be in action next on Friday with a 7 p.m. WHAC match at Marygrove.
