Women's Volleyball's Streak Snapped at Indiana Tech

FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- The Siena Heights women's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to Indiana Tech in Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference competition on Saturday.

Emily Abbs had eight kills and Carly Tillotson finished with 25 assists for the Saints (9-6, 6-5), who dropped sets by scores of 25-19, 25-19, 25-19.

Also for SHU, Leze Vukaj and Halie Baker contributed six kills apiece and Nicole Morgan made nine digs. Baker increased her career kill total to 1,088 and now sits 13 behind all-time SHU all-time record-holder Ashley Hubbard (1,101 in 2004-07).

Indiana Tech used a 4-point run to take command in the first set before enjoying an 11-3 stretch to cruise in the second.

During the third, the Warriors (9-9, 5-5) rattled off seven straight points and held off a late SHU charge.

Shanice Richards and Stacy Nagy finished with 12 and 11 kills, respectively, for Indiana Tech. Karli Jones and Emileen Palka added 18 assists each while Taylor Kelso and Katelyn St. Martin finished with 10 digs apiece.

The Saints will play their next match when nationally-ranked Davenport visits SHU Fieldhouse on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. WHAC contest.
