Women's Volleyball Continues Winning Streak Against Adrian

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights women's volleyball team swept cross-town rival Adrian, 3-0, in a non-conference match on Friday at the SHU Fieldhouse.

Ashleigh Shay and Leze Vukaj had 11 kills to lead the Saints while Abby Whitehead contributed 10 kills.

Also for SHU, Carly Tillotson accumulated 33 assists. Nicole Morgan finished with 15 digs, and Haley Mercy and Bianca Negron also contributed nine digs each.

For Adrian, Margo Joubran led the way with six kills while Sydney Martines and Jordan Brisson chipped in with five each. Brisson also had four total blocks.

Set one: Siena Heights 25, Adrian 18
The Saints opened the set with a 7-2 run and later tacked on an 4-0 run to cruise to the set win.

Set two: Siena Heights 25, Adrian 23
Siena Heights took an early 4-2 lead before Adrian controlled a good portion of the set. The Saints chipped away at their deficit, tying the contest at 16-all. After two more knots at 20 and 23, SHU scored two straight points to end the set.

Set three: Siena Heights 25, Adrian 23
SHU fell behind the Bulldogs early, taking their largest deficit of the night at 17-12. The Saints came back and tied the match at 22- and 23-all before Vukaj and Shay finished the match with a kill each.

The Saints will return to action on Saturday with two Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference pool play matches at Michigan-Dearborn. The first match is against Michigan-Dearborn at 12 p.m. and second one will take place at 3 p.m. against Lourdes.
