Women's Volleyball Rebounds with Sweep over Cornerstone

ADRIAN, Mich. -- The Siena Heights women's volleyball team swept Cornerstone, 3-0, in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference match Wednesday at SHU Fieldhouse.

Alexis McIntosh had nine kills to lead the Saints while Leze Vukaj and Taylor Felver contributed eight and six, respectively.

Also for SHU (12-9, 8-8), Carly Tillotson accumulated 25 assists. Nicole Morgan finished with 17 digs and two aces. Felver and Haley Mercy contributed 15 and 12 digs, respectively.

For Cornerstone (18-8, 11-5), Chelsea Lake led the way with 12 kills and Murphy Heyer added seven. Hope Leppink had 26 assists and Megan Newhouse finished with 17 digs.

Set one: Siena Heights 25, Cornerstone 20
The Saints opened the set with a 4-2 run. Cornerstone tied the set at 4- and 5-all before SHU took command and ran away with set one.

Set two: Siena Heights 25, Cornerstone 15
Sinea Heights took an early 3-1 lead before Cornerstone put a run together tying the set at 5-5. SHU outscored CU, 20-10 the rest of the way, giving them set two. SHU out hit the Golden Eagles, .226 to .000.

Set three: Siena Heights 25, Cornerstone 18
SHU started set three with a 4-1 run and stayed ahead of the Golden Eagles, finishing the match. SHU outhit Cornerstone once again, .205 to .000.

The Saints will return to action in action this weekend for the Aquinas/Cornerstone Classic.
