Women's Volleyball Opens Season With a Split

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- The Siena Heights women's volleyball team opened its season with a split, earning a 3-0 win over Goshen (Ind.) after falling to Mount Vernon Nazarene, 3-1, on Friday at the Concordia Kickoff Tournament.

The Saints began the day with a loss to MVNU. The Cougars won the first two sets but SHU battled back in the third, eventually falling in the fourth set. Set scores were 18-25, 20-25, 25-23, 21-25.

Against Goshen, Siena Heights swept the first three sets with scores of 25-20, 25-20, 25-22.

Next up, Siena Heights will head to Concordia on Saturday for day two of the CUAA Kickoff Tournament. The Saints take on Grace (Ind.) at 10 a.m. and Lawrence Tech at 2 p.m. in a non-conference match.
