ADRIAN, Mich -- The Siena Heights women's volleyball team hosted Indiana Tech in a Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference contest on Friday and grabbed the victory, 3-1.
SHU jumped out to a hot start, winning the first two sets, 25-21 and 25-17 but the Warriors (8-16, 2-6 WHAC) were not finished. They rallied back in the third set to avoid the sweep by a score of 21-25. Despite the 6-0 start to set four by ITU, Siena Heights (17-2, 7-1 WHAC) fought hard to finish the match and put the game away, 25-16.
Taylor Purcell led the Saints' attack with 14 kills while Christine Tylutki followed close behind with 11, also adding 11 digs. Amanda Metz dished out 40 assists for the SHU and Gabrielle Kalugar finished with a team high, 22 digs. Libby Breton and Tylutki led the Saints at the net with five and six assisted blocks respectively.
Next up, the Saints will travel to take on Lourdes in a WHAC contest on Wednesday, Oct. 11. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
