Blackwell Finishes 20th, Leads SHU Women's Bowlers at Bearcat Open
CINCINNATI, Ohio -- Amanda Blackwell (Ferndale, Mich./Ferndale) placed 20th among 118 bowlers to lead the Siena Heights women's bowling team to a 14th-place finish at Cincinnati's Hoinke Bearcat Open. The Saints had a team score of 7,111.
Blackwell finished with a 1,590 total pin count, including a 201 high game. She had a 176.7 average for a nine-game series.
Katarina Coulson (Greenwood, Ind./Whiteland) was 40th for the Saints, finishing with a high of 177. She totaled 1,446 pins and had a 160.7 average.
Amanda McConeghy (Spring Arbor, Mich./Hanover-Horton), Hillary Weiss (Clayton, Mich./Onsted) and Amy Parker (Toledo, Ohio/Bowsher) placed 64th, 71st and 76th, respectively.
McConeghy's high game was a 169. She had a 1,321 pin count.
Weiss' top game was 164 and she finished with a 1,261 total.
Parker's best game was a 167. She totaled 1,203 pins.
Lindenwood (Mo.) won the 16-team event with a score of 9,030. The top individual bowler was Amanda Greene, who finished with a 1,915 score for Lindenwood.
The Saints will compete next at the Blue and Gold Classic in South Bend, Ind.
