Blackwell, Van Loon Lead Women's Bowlers at AHIBC II and III

WICKLIFFE, Ohio -- The Siena Heights women's bowling team competed in two American Heartland Intercollegiate Bowling Conference events over the weekend at Freeway Lanes, placing 14th in AHIBC II on Saturday and 11th in AHIBC III on Sunday.

At AHIBC II, Amanda Blackwell (Ferndale, Mich./Ferndale) was the Saints' top bowler, compiling an average of 172 to place 24th. Celsie Van Loon (Grass Lake, Mich./Grass Lake) was 28th with a 170.4 average and Hillary Weiss (Clayton, Mich./Onsted) tied for 48th with a 151.2.

During AHIBC III, Van Loon led the way, averaging 175.5 to place 20th.

Blackwell took 33rd place with a 168.8 average and Katarina Coulson (Greenwood, Ind./Whiteland) finished 41st with a 159.8 average.

Also on Sunday, Weiss averaged 149.3, Amanda McConeghy (Spring Arbor, Mich./Hanover-Horton) had a 146.3 average and Amy Parker (Toledo, Ohio/Bowsher) had a 139 average.

The Saints will compete next at the Wright State Raider Classic, which will take place at two venues: Poelking Woodman Lanes in Dayton, Ohio, on Nov. 12, and Capri Lanes in Kettering, Ohio, on Nov. 13.
