The following was written on Brian Champine's Hall of Fame Plaque.
Brian Champine played center for the Saints from 2007–08 through 2008–09 and quickly became one of the most impactful players of his era. A dominant defender who averaged nearly 15 points per game, Champine earned NAIA Honorable Mention All-American honors in 2007–08. He was named First Team All-WHAC once and Second Team All-WHAC once, while also earning WHAC Newcomer of the Year honors and selection to the WHAC All-Newcomer Team. Champine was named to the WHAC All-Defensive Team in both seasons of his career. He holds the program’s single-game record for free throws attempted with 18 during the 2007–08 season and finished his career with 121 blocks, the fifth-highest total in school history. Champine also ranks third and fourth in single-season free throws attempted with 221 in 2007–08 and 211 in 2008–09, and third and seventh in single-season blocks with 65 and 56, respectively. He concluded his career with 899 points and 439 rebounds.
