Lorie Robinette joined Siena Heights University in the fall of 2003 as a part-time athletic trainer for the 2003–04 academic year. In 2004, she was promoted to Head Athletic Trainer—a position she has faithfully and expertly held for twenty-two years. In addition to her work in sports medicine, Robinette has served as an adjunct professor, teaching courses in exercise science and First Year Experience, further contributing to the academic and personal development of Siena Heights students.

Throughout her tenure, Robinette has overseen the entire athletic training operation during a period of tremendous institutional growth. She guided the program as it expanded from twelve varsity teams and 250 student-athletes to a department featuring twenty-four teams and more than 800 student-athletes. Her leadership has consistently set the standard for excellence in student care, program management, and clinical education.

Robinette has played an instrumental role in mentoring future professionals, supporting countless athletic training students through their clinical education and twice earning recognition as Preceptor of the Year. Her impact was further acknowledged in the 2023–24 academic year when she was named the WHAC Athletic Trainer of the Year.

In addition to providing direct care for Saints student-athletes, Robinette has led a staff of up to five professional athletic trainers while supervising numerous students completing clinical rotations. Her dedication goes far beyond injury prevention and rehabilitation; she is known for her unwavering support of student-athletes’ physical, mental, emotional, and overall well-being. Her compassion, professionalism, and commitment have made her an indispensable presence within Siena Heights Athletics.
