The following was printed on Racquel Ward's Hall of Fame Plaque:
Racquel Ward played two seasons for the Saints as a pitcher and designated hitter and quickly established herself as one of the top two-way players in program history.
Ward is the only pitcher in program history at Siena Heights University to be named WHAC Pitcher of the Year, earning the honor in 2018. She was a two-time First Team All-WHAC selection and earned WHAC Player of the Week twice along with three WHAC Pitcher of the Week honors.
Her academic excellence matched her athletic performance. Ward was named Academic All-WHAC once, NAIA Scholar-Athlete once, and NFCA Scholar-Athlete twice.
Ward was a key contributor to the Saints’ 2019 WHAC Tournament Championship and NAIA National Tournament qualifying team. Upon graduation, she ranked 2nd in career batting average (.419), 6th in career wins (35), 9th in innings pitched (353.2), 9th in strikeouts (204), and 7th in ERA (2.47).
Both of her seasons appear prominently in the program record book. In 2019, she posted a .421 batting average (9th in single-season history), 61 hits (8th), 19 doubles (3rd), seven home runs (4th), and 26 walks (6th). In the circle, she recorded 19 wins (4th), 197.2 innings pitched (3rd), and 111 strikeouts (7th). In 2018, she added 16 pitching wins, which ranks 6th in program history.
Ward also owns one of the most remarkable single-game performances in Saints history. On April 23, 2018, against Cornerstone University, she pitched a 17-inning complete game — the longest outing in program history — while also drawing four walks as a hitter and striking out 13 batters in the same game.
